Elvis, smoked cod and meadowsweet
Bottle fed lambs, exploding fermentations and a recipe for a cordial
We’ve adopted two orphaned lambs here over the last week, Milkshake and Nesquick. Both are very small, one week old and like to keep me company in the kitchen where they knock into my legs, bleating erratically and occasionally weeing on the floor.
These two little ones are another addition to the burgeoning number of pets that the family I work for keep here at their grand old house in the countryside. I used to be able to remember the headcount of all the animals, I’ve now long forgotten. I struggle to keep up. I can easily name everyone, but ask me how many dogs we have and I almost have to count them out on my fingers... There are more than seven (at the moment). Exotic cats are well into double figures, snakes, parrots, cattle, geese, bantams, and ducks of all varieties. Goats are next, there was talk of Emu’s and we had a bat that we rescued, that had fallen or flown into something and landed on the patio.
