I hope you are well now. One bit of useless information I have about bee sting: in my homeland the old ones believe if you are stung by a bee in summer you will have a winter of no-rheumatoid aches.
I'll be making the porcini recipe, thank you. Bummer about the bee stings. My daughter is a bee enthusiast, so I took her to a beekeeping weekend class here in Florida when she was 15 years old. I tell you, it made me nervous getting close to the hives, even with protective gear.
Wow, I'm impressed you kept your cool when you realized some bees had gotten in through the zipper. I would not have been calming walking away to figure things out.
It was obviously not the day to open hive 2, ouch indeed. Did you find any holes in your suit Will or was it a careless zipper? Hope you are recovered now
The carpaccio of porcini sounds delightful, but I don’t recall ever thinking porcini mushrooms would pair well with honey... That's something new for me to try, as long as I can find locally produced honey (I don't have an issue with honey as a vegan, but it must never be commercially produced).
Always close your zipper is very very good advice
In all sorts of situations as well I’d say.

Often there is a truth to these old stories.
Antihistamines are definitely a good idea in the beekeeping kit-bag.
Yes I have a tube of stuff, I also gave myself a loading dose of piriton and zoned out for the evening.

The miracle of bees and bee-keeping will never cease to amaze me.

I like the photos! Great and humorous writing!

WOW! I now have a much greater appreciation for my jar of honey. Especially for the bees and THE BEEKEEPER
Ouch 😞. But the carpaccio looks lovely. Never paired porcini with honey before, but both are "earthy", can see why they work together.
I may not sleep tonight...
